India is indeed one of the one most sought after winter holiday destinations in the world. Well my Indian folks know it all about India. But for my foreigner friends, let me tell you that India is one of the most diverse countries globally and is famous for its diverse array of cultures, landscapes, religions, and languages. India has geographical diversity in the form of mountains, plains, plateaus, deserts and islands. It has the best weather conditions in winter which brings snow in the mountains, fogs in the plains, warm sunshine near beaches, and mysterious mists in the lush environment. There are umpteen numerous destinations across the length and breadth of this vast and beautiful country. Below I have  compiled the list of the best places to visit in India in winter.

Jaipur

Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan in North India is surely worth a visit during winters when the weather is just perfect. Make sure to visit this beautiful state from November till mid March when the weather is ideal for sightseeing. There is so much to do while in Jaipur. Jaipur is the city of forts, temples, palaces, markets and what not. You can explore the City Palace, which is the residence of the royal family of Jaipur. Visit the Amber Fort, Jaigarh Fort, Nahargarh Fort. Check out Jal Mahal from a distance. Visit Albert Hall Museums, Govind Ji Temple, as well as Jantar Mantar.
