77TH INDIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY

We are celebrating India’s 77th Independence Day on August 15th, 2023.

This day annually commemorates India’s freedom from British colonial rule in 1947.

On this day, Our Honourable Prime Minister, Shri PM Narendra Modi Ji hoist the National Flag at the Red Fort and also address the nation from this historic place, commemorating the nation’s journey as it enters its 77th year of independence. Marking 76 years of India’s freedom, the theme for this year is “Nation First, Always First,” as part of the larger “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Celebration. This theme is all about putting the nation first and above anything else, regardless of the individual differences.

In 2023, PM Modi has also introduced the HAR GHAR TRINGA Campaign, encouraging everyone to proudly hoist the tricolour flag in their houses on Independence Day.

What is the significance of August 15th?

Well, it was on this day on 15th August 1947, Our country India was declared independent from British colonialism and the reins of control were handed over to the Indian leaders.

August 15 is a national holiday in India and is celebrated with great zeal and pride across India.
On this day, you will find the streets of India adorned with the tricolours of the national flag.
